Saturday 12 June sees the resumption of the exhibition programme at the Centro Teknon in Barcelona, called Ars et Scientia, with an exhibition by the Basque artist Iñigo Arregi. Under the title "An imagined place", a total of 8 small and medium-sized sculptures and 2 large sculptures will be on display in the central hall of the building, and can be visited free of charge every day until the end of September. After organising some thirty exhibitions at Teknon between 2008 and 2017, the gallery is once again taking the reins of the programme with great enthusiasm, and is already preparing the next exhibitions.

Iñigo Arregi (Arrasate-Mondragón, 1954) is considered heir to the Basque sculptural avant-garde of the late 20th century, having forged his artistic career in close contact with the industrial environment of his native Mondragón. His recent work is synthesised in his characteristic intertwined sculptures in Corten steel, some of them in large format, as well as in small pieces and reliefs in cardboard and wood. His work is regularly exhibited in European galleries, museums and art fairs, and his work forms part of numerous public and private collections.
ars ars
The Basque artist Iñigo Arregi shows us his sculptures and reliefs under the same plastic concept that has in common his eagerness for geometric shapes that intertwine. The pieces, on different planes that overlap. Alignments that, in the case of the sculptures, fit together to form a harmonious whole, made up of planes that meet or join together, that can be separated and joined again as if they were a jigsaw puzzle. A discourse of non-explicit references, of complex arguments related to emotions. Visions from the front only, unlike the sculptures, which can be seen from any perspective.
