The sculptor of paper

Daniel Agdag, a paper artist based in Melbourne (Australia), participated in Homo Faber 2024 held in Venice this September thanks to the Fondazione Giorgio Cini. Homo Faber is represented by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Crafts, a cultural movement based on artisanal creativity known for its educational programs for new generations.
Agdag's paper architectural work was able to inspire the visitors of Homo Faber 2024, as they could create a handmade piece of paper themselves. Daniel Agdag draws inspiration from his film career to create intricately structured scenarios. He uses various materials: brown paper, tracing paper, thread, cardboard, and glue. His intuition helps him to find the small details that characterise his creations. At Homo Faber, thanks to multifaceted talents like Daniel Agdag, it was possible to rediscover the traditions behind objects that accompany us on life's journey.

“There is no right way of doing anything creative.

I do not think there is any right way of doing anything, in fact!

You should just do whatever you feel is right.

And I think if you let that lead you, then that will create a road for you.

I truly believe that.” — Daniel Agdag.
