Beck’s greatest inspiration for his artwork also comes from often going for long walks to capture new perspectives and angles. He translates this inspiration into new sketches and ideas. Aalto. His art doesn’t necessarily need to represent or reflect anything more than the fact that it is a painting, because sometimes things don’t have to make sense or represent something concrete. It’s really about composition, as well as the balance between black and white; from the layering of colours to the placement of figures. Symmetrical and asymmetrical aspects must be in place from the beginning. There is a difficulty in making the simple look interesting. Thus, Beck likes to challenge himself.
