Chanel, 110 years of Haute Couture: SS 2025 Fashion Show

21.02.2025

Fashion as an art form

At Paris Fashion Week, Chanel has created an unparalleled journey where art and fashion converge in a dreamlike experience. After 110 years of infinite creation, its spring-summer 2025 Haute Couture runway show pays tribute to the maison's history and reinterprets, with a contemporary vision, Gabrielle Chanel's codes in an exercise of endless renewal.
The collection is, at the same time, a chromatic circle and an infinite cycle of day and night. The Grand Palais in Paris was the stage where Chanel presented the 55 looks that reaffirmed the aesthetic heritage, fusing the iconic classic Chanel silhouette with contemporary elements. The runway, reminiscent of the brand's logo, was infused with vibrant colors, pastel shades, transparencies, sequins and unmistakable tweed ensembles. Among the highlights, the wedding dress stole the show: a short design with a voluminous tulle train that reinterprets bridal tradition with unexpected freshness.

Gabrielle Chanel, also known as Coco Chanel, revolutionized the use of the color black in fashion and was also a great colorist. Her chromatic legacy is kept alive in this collection, where pastel shades emerge as protagonists and the brand's new bet. The spring-summer 2025 proposal not only evokes the palette of the warm seasons but also pays tribute to the innovative spirit of its founder.

Fashion is both a tactile and visual art, an expression that has become fully integrated into our daily lives. Each garment is a reflection of the mood, concerns and identity of the wearer. Haute Couture, in this sense, represents the most sublime manifestation of creativity in fashion, where design becomes art and gathers the attention of famous figures.
On the creative front, Chanel enters a new phase under the leadership of Matthieu Blazy, who takes over the helm following the departure of Virginie Viard, the brand's creative director for three decades. Blazy, recognized for his exceptional work at Bottega Veneta, as well as Margiela and Celine, brings a unique sensibility to reinterpret the DNA of the brands he works for. His debut with Chanel will take place in the fall-winter 2025/2026 collection, a presentation that will mark the beginning of a new era for the iconic French house.
