KEPA GARRAZA FOR ‘SIZE MATTERS’ AT THE MUSEUM MORE

The importance of contemporary drawing

Size Matters is the new exhibition at Museum MORE. Drawings from 2 metres to 10 metres fill the halls alongside 3D installations. From 20 October until 2 February 2025, the exhibition presents 28 established artists. The pioneers' work and new drawing talents draw the viewer's attention to three themes: nature versus architecture, current affairs versus history, and realism versus virtual reality.
Drawing is a tool for experimentation. ‘Size Matters vindicates the importance of size, dimensions, format, and material. What is drawing today, and what differentiates it from painting? Artists such as Kepa Garraza (Berango, Vizcaya, 1979), with a great trajectory of academic training and national and international exhibitions, show their vision through the Museum MORE. Kepa Garraza's work questions the nature of the images that we consume every day through official media. His reinterpretation of reality invites the viewer to meditate on the construction of the historical narrative and the truth.
